Wills & Name Changes

Wills and name changes are handled through our Deed Room / Probate Department. After a will or a name change is approved by Probate Court, they will be brought to the Barren County Clerk’s Office to be recorded.

– The recording fees are $8.00.

– Name change fees are $8.00.

Once recorded and indexed, the will or name change is imaged and microfilmed, the original being retained by the Clerk’s Office.

The fee to obtain a copy of a recorded will or name change is $2.00 for three pages or less; 50 cents each page thereafter.

A certified copy is $5.00 for the first three pages and 50 cents for each additional page.
