Passport Center

Traveling Abroad?  Need a Passport?  We Can Help!

The Barren County Clerk’s Office has been designated an official Passport Acceptance Facility by the United States Department of State.  Barren County residents and community members (and surrounding counties and communities) are now able to apply for a U.S. Passport and/or Passport Card directly through our office.

As a Passport Acceptance Facility, we are authorized to receive your completed application for a U.S. Passport and submit the application along with all necessary documentation to Passport Services.  Passport Services (of the U.S. State Department) will then determine eligibility for a U.S. Passport.  It is important to note that only the U.S. Department of State can make the final decision to issue a passport to an individual.

One of the biggest advantages of working with our office is that we do not require that you have an appointment to receive service.  You can visit the Barren County Clerk’s Office Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to receive assistance.

As part of our services, we are happy to provide the necessary forms required to apply for a U.S. Passport, as well as other passport-related forms and field any questions regarding the passport process.  We are also authorized to accept applications for the new U.S. Passport Card.

*** Please note that at this time we are not able to offer on-site photo service, so you will need to have those photos taken and with you when you come in to complete the paperwork with our office.  We hope to be adding on-site photo service soon! ***
